Dr. Karen Dubinsky is a Professor Emerita at 91TV where she teaches in the departments of Global Development Studies and History. Nominated by Between the Lines Books, explores the relationship between Canada and Cuba at human level, focusing on the personal encounters between Cubans and Canadians themselves. Transcending political ideologies, state policies, and national borders to reveal a shared humanity, Strangely, Friends demonstrates how these personal relationships left lasting marks on one another’s societies and cultures.
