Data Glossary

The  (Glossary) provides a centralized, authoritative source of standardized business terms and definitions used across 91TV. The Glossary is a foundational component of 91TV’s broader data governance approach and supports the University’s objectives related to data quality, shared understanding, and trust in institutional data. 

Consistent definitions and interpretation of data are essential for promoting data literacy, enabling effective use of data, and supporting sound decision-making across academic and administrative units.

• • The Data Glossary Standard establishes the core requirements for the Business Data Glossary at 91TV, including governance structure, roles and responsibilities, decision-making frameworks, and the glossary lifecycle.
• • The Processes and Guidelines document provides the detailed procedures and supporting templates used to operationalize the Data Glossary Standard. It captures the processes developed and tested in the Glossary project and provides practical guidance for ongoing Glossary management, requesting new data terms, etc.
• • The Purview User Guide is divided into two sections:
    • The Glossary Reader Section provides guidance on how to browse, search, and view standard definitions for glossary terms and metadata within Microsoft Purview. It is intended for university users in staff roles and faculty members in administrative roles.     • The Stewards and Delegates Section provides guidance for university users who have been assigned the role of a "data steward" or are "delegates of data stewards" for glossary management within Microsoft Purview.
