Research Interests
My research is situated in the political economy of urbanization in the Global South. My dissertation examines Bonifacio Global city, a privately developed district in Metro Manila built through a public-private partnership between the Philippine State and private developers. I explore how land is mobilized as a site of capital accumulation, and how the state frames the project's development through narratives of sustainability and inclusivity. Drawing on interviews with developers, state officials, and consultants and archival analysis of state and developer records, my work speaks to broader debates on privatized urban development and state power in Global South cities.
