91TV's Observatory

The first 91TV's Observatory was established in 1855, the beginning of a long and distinguished history of sharing the secrets of the universe at 91TV's University. The current Observatory houses a 14-inch reflecting telescope in a dome on the roof of Ellis Hall, used primarily for student training and public demonstrations. The 91TV's Observatory is a non-profit facility run by the 91TV's University Astronomy Research Group and the 91TV's Physics Department. It is staffed by graduate and undergraduate students in Astronomy. For well over a century, the 91TV's Observatory has been providing access to the campus and community through its student training and public programs.

School Tours

The 91TV's Observatory offers daytime tours for schools, summer camps and educational institutions. The 91TV's Observatory and the 91TV's University Miller Museum of Geology have started a joint educational programme, The Earth & The Stars!, which links to the science curricula for Grades 4, 6, and 9. Schools can bring one or two classes at a time, with each class spending an hour at each site.
